I NEED ADVICE!! I need to decorate my teens bedroom. I have a budget of $500 and it needs to be really good?

My teen is 13 years old, and she has a navy blue, light blue and white bed sheet. It has a hawaian design. If you want to see how it looks then you can search ';Kauai Seventeen Bed Sheet'; on google images. Its the one with diagonal stripes going across it, each with a design on them.

Her room has a plain white wall, so thats taken care of. I can stitch very well but i cant sow designs onto things or anything like that. Her room is 12' x 11' and we have mahogany furniture.

I would love ideas and steps on how to decorate this room. new items would also be perfect.

The best answer will be to the best design, or advice.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE WHO ANSWERS!!

PLEASE HELP!!! :DI NEED ADVICE!! I need to decorate my teens bedroom. I have a budget of $500 and it needs to be really good?
Accessories make a world of difference! and anything you already have, you can usually go to your local fabric store and get your choice of fabric and use it as a cloth over a nightstand for example. You can purchase ceiling tile which is fairly inexpensive and use that same fabric to cover it, (stable it to the back) then use ribbons going diagonal in both directions and hang it on the wall so she can hang pictures, homework, reminders, etc. An accent rug can make a world of difference too. Spray paint also works wonders. Further more, check out the local dollar stores or Family Dollars and also chain stores (wal-mart or Target) look for sales on fabrics, paints, personalized letters that can be painted, etc.I NEED ADVICE!! paint is the least expensive way to decorate the room try hgtv and watch decorating cents they decorate rooms for under 500 dollars lots of ideas or pull up the web site www.hgtv.com
Well i just helped a 14 yr old girl with her room and small things such as fish to hang on the walls or a Hawaiian shirt pillow (stuff a shirt with stuffing and sow shut all the openings) would be great. costco also has these removable wall decals that would look great on your daughters white wall. maybe a creative light would add some spice to the room too

hope this helped ^_^
I'm 13 as well, so here is some advice from an expert!! Try accenting with navy blue. Clocks, picture frames, rugs, chairs, pillows, lamps, and anything else your teen thinks is awesome! Bean bags work good as lounge chairs, or even a reading area! Even shelves would look good, maybe keep with the mahogany theme for furniture. Seeing as you have a really cool bed spread, there is no need for a new one. But buy some pillows to spice it up! :) Pictures of Hawaii to put on the walls sounds good to keep a Hawaiian theme.

I hope this helps you out, with your wonderful daughters room!!
