Most of my extended family are moving to France (all the same area) and my mum wants to go too. I'm 18 and still living at home. If she was to go this year I would have to go too as I'm not in a position to live on my own right now. I'm also very shy and find it hard to make friends. I'm working on that though and am starting French classes anyway for when I go to visit my family. The main reason to go would be to be near my family but that would also mean leaving other family and friends here. My two favourite things to do are going shopping and going to concerts (i hate that word, i don't know why lol). What is shopping like in France compared to the UK? And am I right in thinking that Paris is pretty much the only place in France that american and uk bands will play? I don't really see myself in France so if I did go it would only be for a year or so. Urgh. I'm really confused. I don't know what to do. Has anyone moved to France in their late teens from the UK? What was it like, what's different, what's the same? We haven't talked about it in a while but I'm wondering if it's worth putting it back on the table.
I don't know how much sense that will make to other people but my heads a bit all over the place about it so if you do understand please help lol
thanks xxI need advice about moving to France in my late teens?
As far as bands and concerts go you'd be surprised at who plays where in France, this site will tell you what's on and where, it's in French but not to hard too work out. http://www.viafrance.com/
As for shopping it really depends on where you'll be living. Most big towns and cities are pretty good for shopping, a lot of the clothes stores tend to be large and just outside of town.
If you're going to be living in the sticks, a small village or anywhere rural then it's going to be very, very quiet.I need advice about moving to France in my late teens?
Hey i'm french and i live in France ^^
I live in south of France, near Spain and Mediterann茅e :P
Bands come play there you know, and not only in Paris haha :D
Last time Snoop dog came, so ^^
In Nantes or Le mans, weather is not as good as Perpignan (where i live).
Nantes isn't in the middle of France, Nantes is in the north. Le mans i don't know.
Nantes is calm and people are very nice there, my exboyfriend live there now so he told me.
In France, 18 is the majority, at this age you can live alone like an adult you know :)
You can drink, you can smoke, you can vote, you can do whatever an adult can do (i don't know if in you're country majority is at 21).
Alright, i think you should come in France a year, it's a good experience and it wouldn't be too long in a life to spend one or two year away from your country !
If you need something else, ask me :)
