WEAR A F**KING CONDOM.

There are at least 3 cheap, if not FREE, easy methods of contraception.

01: Condoms (female %26amp; male varieties).

02: The Pill.

03: Diaphragms %26amp; other IUDs.

This day and age there is no excuse for teenagers getting pregnant...... None!
Its not worth it. You will ruin your social life.
it all depends on how old you are. and if you will still be able to finish highschol before the baby is actually born. eventhough you have a baby in your teens it doesnt mean you life is completly over. i have many friends with babies and they are doing quite well for themselves. as long as you have a supportive boyfriend or fience or babies daddy or support from you family or his then its not all bad.
listen im say this like how i think it is.

It's not a good thing. For most. Lack of money, time with peers, losing friends. I feel bad. My sister lost alot of friends when she got pregnant at 16. But if you look at her now she is a beautiful 25 year old and married to the dad of her first child and she has two other kids.

DOCS can only advice is to make her ward of the state?
It's going to take a lot of patience to deal with your daughter,She doesn't hate you trust me and shes not running from you either! I had the same problems as a child My mom had issues and things wasn't going to good at home so I ran to the streets because it seemed like that everyone else outside my home was normal!! My mom had such a hard time with me i ended up having my daughter at age 16 because i thought that this guy loved me! Well I'm 36 now and when I look back over my life I was running because my mom had four other children two marriages and all the other problems that life could bring but she forgot about me , i was the middle child and oldest girl so I had to take on alot of responsibilities and that's what made me rebel against my mom so just try and talk to your daughter and spend time with her just you and her and hug her and love her Good luck I pray that this will work out!!!!

Insulin pump advice for a teen?

I'm 12 years old and a type one and I was wondering what I need to know about the pump and what advice I should get before getting one?Insulin pump advice for a teen?
The pump is awesome for insulin dependent diabetics. It gives you so much more freedom and versatility with controlling your diabetes. When it comes to choosing a pump, its up to your preference. The main pumps on the market are the Omni Pod, MiniMed Paradigm, OneTouch Ping, and Animas. The are all comparable and have pretty much the same features and functions. The major difference will be between the tubing and non tubing.

MiniMed and OneTouch Ping have tubing that connect the pump to the injection site on you, but they allow for a quick release so that you can disconnect the tubing and pump at anytime without removing the injection site. The Omni Pod is without tubing and sits directly on your skin which has the advantage of no tubing but disadvantage of no quick release.

If you are a water person the Omni Pod is wearable in the shower, while the OneTouch Ping is completely water proof for swimming.

The MiniMed and Ping are both operational from controls on the pump and remotes. The Omni Pod is only operational from the remote/glucometer so if you misplace it you cannot control your insulin dosing.

Here other questions related to yours

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>

You can order a sample OmniPod from their website and wear it around to see how it feels.

MiniMed Medtronic has amazing customer service from my experience and you are assigned a trainer/rep who will come to your house to educate you and set you up on the pump.

The Ping looks like the next generation pump with color display, color cases, waterproof enclosure and two way communication with pump and meter.

Either way you go, you can't go wrong.

Other than what Sarah has told you what you need to know is carb counting and be prepared to test before and after every meal. Your bolus dose will be based on how many carbs you are eating. I use the minimed pump and as Sarah mentioned they have excellent customer service. Getting a pump was the best decision I ever made I'm sure you will be pleased with the ease and flexibility it gives you plus much better control. My A1C went from over 13 to 6.4 after getting the pump. Best of Luck.
Nice answer, Sarah. Lots of information. Learned a thing or two myself.

    HELP! teen friend advice needed?

theres a lot of people i want to be friends with in my school but i dont know them or speak to them, i only see them in the halls. how do start up a convo and get a friendship going without looking like a total nerd?HELP! teen friend advice needed?
    SmileHELP! teen friend advice needed?
do any of your friends know these people? if they do, then you have a fantastic atvantage. if you don't then try something simple, lik asking what class they have a certain period, or making a date for luch, or hey just sit down where they sit and ask about pets, or homework, or just pull something out of thin air. dont be afriad to talk to them because u r scared of looking stupid. the worst thing that could happen is them not likeing you at first sentence. give it time, if they really would be a good person and a good friend, then they will give you the chance. if not, they aren't worth it. if you need more advice, email me (im not a guy im this guys sister) at avrilgirl1134@yahoo.com

    hope this helps!!!
Say something like nice (example: I like that shirt or man, this teach is so boring) and afterwards just keep the words going and start a converstaion but you do have to realize that that person may not want to be friends with you let me know how everything goes -Bye Bye
hey do you guys have a myspace? if you do then you should add them as friends and leave them little comments. maybe throughout all this you would become more familiar with each other and actually strike up conversation in the halls. It works for me!
Forget about all those teen movies. It may sound hard but you really just have to talk to them. Hey whats up, Whats going on. Bring up school work or comment on clothing. Jusst dont second guess yourself, if you do you will come across as nervous or weak. Everyone wants to be around confident people. Even if your not just fake it. It worked for me.
say something like';Hey how are you?i like your shirt whered ya get it?';If they wanna be your friend theyll answer and ask you questions too.

i f they dont like then theyll just say a quick answer then leave or they will just ignore you.
    WOW...u can be my friend
Find something that they are interested in and talk to them about that. Like if they like basketball, talk to them about your favorite team, or the game you saw yesterday. Or just like always, How are you, is a great conversation starter. Also, whats up?, things like that. Or ask to borrow a pencil, pen or whatever. Just make conversation out of stupid things and just don't think, do.
just to smile and start to be friendly!

    ...Gud luck babe!
easy walk up to them and say hey guys wazzup
You should probably try making friends with people in your classes. At least then you'd have something in common to strike up a conversation about.

Hmm but in the halls I suppose you could always smile and say you like their shoes or something...ask them where they shop..etc..
As that state in position just say hi and how r u and wat have u been doing and then soon you will have friendships or wat ever ur looking 4
Be a joiner. Join in after school activities, clubs, sports teams, cheerleader squad.

Take your time, be patient, in only a few weeks you'll be popular.
Compliment them, wait for a moment to pitch in a line, like if they are talkin about somethin like for instance say they say ';did you see that episode where such and such slapped such and such'; and you reply somethin like yeha that was funny. Start up stuff like that..
    I face this problem too.

    Step one:

    Smile.

    Step two:

Get there attention. You need to be confident in yourself for it to work. So try not to be worried.

    Step three:

Remember they aren't better then you. They're just people. Just say 'hey'. Or like ';i like your shoes'; Something simple will do it.
well i had the same exact problem as you at the beginning of the school year and now I'm Friends with like everyone what i did was like outside the classroom door or whatever i would be like hey whats your name they'd tell me and id be like oh I'm (your name) then just say something like are you new here and he/she will answer then most likely start up another conversation if not just give it time like lets say you don't talk again until the next day then you could be like sorry whats your name again i forgot then after he/she tells you once again start talking then like Right before lunch be like do you care if i sit with you and if she/he says yes then at lunch walk with them or meet their and sit with them don't be shy to talk to their Friends too get involved now if he/she says no then you could just be like oh OK well I'll see you later then just start talking to any other personal random and follow the same step's and don't worry eventually you'll find someone to hang out with and it might not be the 1st day but eventually and once you start talking to one person talk to their Friends to that's why i said don't be shy to get involve at first i was but i learned to get over it.

Well i hope i helped you and i hope you follow the advice I've given and remember never give up well i got to go for now thanks for reading good bye and have a nice day.

Need teen girl advice: Do you think he likes me?????

His name is Ryan...he stares at me A LOT on the bus. He usually sits by me if there is no empty seat......when if he wanted to he could have sat by tons of other girls he knew that were sitting alone. His old girlfriend..a.k.a my friend rode home with me and she kept staring everywhere....so he could've seen her face...but he didn't notice her.....because he was staring at me...and when I noticed and looked at him..he kinda kept his gaze for like about 10 seconds.

History: We have talked before and all..and I was told he liked me but that was WAY before....is it possible he still does?Need teen girl advice: Do you think he likes me?????
girl. it sounds like he's diggin you!!! go for it!!! good luck!!!Need teen girl advice: Do you think he likes me?????
I would guess from what you said, he probably does have an attraction to you. Most likely he's kinda shy. Try starting a conversation with him about something you may have in common. See how things develop from there.
Yeah, it sounds like he does... a lot but, is too nervous, scared... whatever, to do anything.
i would say ya he does but do you like him is one of the major questions.
I think that he does like u and if he keeps staring at u and then u have to tell ur friends so she cans ask him how she feels.
oh yea i think he does or he wouldnt stare at u thats the number one flirting in guys that like you go for girl tell him how you feel get girl
I'd say go for it with no regrets. i mean that's what life's about right?
    he likes you
HE PROBABLY DOES B/C IF SOMEONE DOES THAT ESPECIALLY A BOY, THAT MEANS THE 9 TIMES OUTTA 10 THEY ARE FEELIN YOU AND THEY WANT TO BE WIT YOU SO DONT BE SHY ASK HIM IF HE WANTS TO GO OUT WIT YOU..........
    1. Nothing is a sure thing.

    2. Likely he does.
it is possible, i obviously dont know him or you, but the signs clearly point to yes, if you like him too, use it to your advantage... good luck!
well you never really know when a guy likes you intill you ask him yourself but it sounds pretty good to me. the best way to ask him if he likes you is to ASK HIM YOURSELF dont ask your friends to ask him and dont just ask him kind of get into conversation and then just do your thing
Sounds like he likes you. Here's a big tip for all girls out there. Just go up the guy and ask him, ';Do you like me?'; He will probably say yes and then you can become friends because you sound too young to be dating.
yeah he can still like you maybe he is too shy to ask you out and ur friends with his ex so maybe he is being considerate of your friendship....you should ask your friend for advice and see if she is okay with you liking him and he liking you...good luck !!!
of coarse he like you...he has an outtie, you have an innie, you don't have to be brilliant to figure this one out
1 jelousy never solves anything it makes it worse if you are jelouse now and your not togther don't even get together and two if he aint told you he likes you like that ask him and tell him how you feel and men cant stand a jelouse woman/girls good luck
how about you just put your head on his shoulder when he sits by you? if he puts his arm around you, you have your answer right there.

  • Need [teen love] advice?

so i like this guy. and i dont know if he likes me back . he sometimes flirts with one of my friends. sometimes i think '; well if thats the kind of girl he likes [forward and outgoing] than there's no hope'; cuz im not like that. i dont know what i should do: give up and be a good friend [let her go for hm] or not?Need [teen love] advice?
    You cant just give up.

You got make yourself noticed. Flirt with him. im not sayin u have to be forward and outgoing all of the sudden. From the sound of it u r shy but dont worry thats not completely a bad thing. But you still have to make yourself noticed. So talk to him flirt with him and if it seems like none of thats workin just tell him how you feel. Some guys dont see the signs from women so sometimes you just have to tell him how you feelNeed [teen love] advice?
well u not sure if that is the type of girls he likes, sometimes guys just flirts without intending to.

i think u have a equal chance as her, if my experience is anything to go by. so don't give up now, but try and get his attention OK, u can do that just by talking to him
quit being paranoid. If you are thinking all this all the time you're probably acting weird around him without realising it. Next time you guys are together flirt a little and see where it goes. If he makes moves on your friend.. then back off. For now, he sounds like fair game.
if he is just trying to get you attention by flirting with her then dont give up but if your firend really likes him maybe just sit back and see what happens . most of all remember boyfriends come a dime a dozen but friends are forever.
if he likes you, he'll like you for you. you wouldn't have to pretend to be like your friends or anything and have you ever thought maybe he was trying to make you jealous? if you friend lieks him too you should probably back off because guys can break up friendships. if she doesn't like him then maybe she should ask him who he likes and there might just be a chance he lieks you or if he doesn't know her all that well ask one of his friends who he likes
    ';NO';
well do you really know if your friend likes him and does your friend know that you like him.before you do anything i think that you should talk with her first to make sure you two are ok with this situation.you should try and just talk to him and maybe ask to go to the beach or maybe a movie as friends and then maybe try and move on.if from this ';date'; doesn't seem boyfriend material then just move on!!!
that is his type more because he is what? skanky? pretty? skinny? you shld be a little more specific....it should be more whats on the inside, but thats a cleshea nowadays....

go for it....ask your friend how she feels, dont fight with friends over boys

Is there any advice available on a teen age boy living with father in new country with no motherly figure.?

I am having a bit of difficulty as we are very close and i am not short of cash.So i feel he has for varios reasons a distinct lack of respect. His confidence level i would think is good but with me i need to bring him down just a bit.Any help from a single parent of exsperience?.Is there any advice available on a teen age boy living with father in new country with no motherly figure.?
If you are in the UK there are lots of parenting networks like Gingerbread and Surestart that can support you.

I suggest taking up a hobby together as bonding experience. Let them chose what it would be. It should be something neither of you have any experience of, so you both start off on an even footing. By letting them choose it will show that you value their opinion and should gain you respect. Make sure that the hobby isnt driven by money tho.

Good luck!Is there any advice available on a teen age boy living with father in new country with no motherly figure.?
Ask the father to get married
If you hold the purse strings then you make the rules. When he gets disrespectful stop the conversation. When he can speak in a civil manner like a young adult then you will be happy to converse with him. If he has a vehicle that you pay for that is another area to learn it is a privilege to have a car not a right. Depending on his age, is he old enough to hold a job. This definitely teaches young people responsibility and that things in life need to be earned.

Parents... teen needs advice on understanding her parents?

i'll be 18 next week and am trying to find a way to bring up the issue of a curfew extension.. on the weekends.. to my parents.

here are a few things about me:

    -ive never missed my curfew

    -im usually 10-15 minutes early

-im still in high school so its really just for the weekends

-ive never gotten into drinking or drugs so they don't have to worry about any of that

-im always honest about who im with and where im at

.. ive been doing all this to build up their trust and it seems like they're having a harder time than ever letting go..

i guess i just need to hear from some other parents to understand this..

    thanks

michelleParents... teen needs advice on understanding her parents?
You didn't say what time curfew is, so I don't have a sense of what is/isn't reasonable here.

Your parents love you, and yes they are trying to protect you. It scares them when you are out and they dont know what's going on, where you are. If they are like me (I have a 14 year old)...they trust YOU, it's the rest of the world they aren't too sure about !

Start with your mom. Tell her that ...now that you are 18...you'd like to stay out another 30 minutes (or wahtever). Reassure her that you understand they are concerned about things they can't control. Tell her what precautions you will take (I'll always call you 30 minutes before I head home , I promise I will NEVER get in a car with someone driving who is compromised at all, whatever) ... ask her to try it for 3 weeks and you two can then talk and reasses how it is working out.

It's not you they are worried about probably, so recognize that, and talk to them from that angle. Don't start a fight....speak with understanding of their position.Parents... teen needs advice on understanding her parents?
You just honestly told us why you want a curfew extension. How about telling all that to them? They were all good things. I'd give you extensions on the weekends! Also, mention how good your grades are (if they're good.) I do not see any thing wrong in telling all that to your parents.

One word of caution though: If they extend your curfew, don't blow it by doing something stupid!
My suggestion is sit down with your parents and disscuss the issues... present to them that you are now 18 and that you have always been responsible with your curfew...and that you will uphold that... I believe they will extend your xurfew if you present basic facts of responsiblity.
If your parents are in the mindset that, ';Our house our rules';, then your probably not going to get very far till after you graduate.

I admire the fact that you show such wonderful potential (via your building up trust). But it's not always about your actions, it also about the world we live in and the dangers.

If I were you, I would ask my parents if they would consider working out a plan so you could stay out later. Tell them to think it over before they give you an answer. If you don't hear back from them about this after a week. Go ahead and ask what they thought about it. Give them that time to consider what you have ask. This shows maturity on your part.

    You gain this way by:

1: Not being perceived as being pestering.

2: You learn more about where they stand on this issue, what they feel comfortable with and what they consider acceptable. This knowledge will prove useful to you.

    Jammer
Well since you will be turning 18 soon I say you should get a job and find some room mates and move out so you can make your own decisions. You will legally be an adult soon.
You sound pretty well rounded and i hope my kids are like that when they are 17/18 years old. Im not sure what your curfew is now but you are pretty well an adult and a curfew seems to be a little much, but thats just me. You are only in highschool for a little while longer and still have to follow the rules if you are under their roof, unless you start paying your own way around the house. Sit your parents down and talk with them like adults, and explain to them what it is what you want and why. If they dont budge (wich they should give a little) and you dont like it, either suck it up, or move out with some friends.
Well, sit your parents down and present to them what you've presented here. Have the list you've written her in front of you so you can refer to it. Be ready to reply to them with any questions they have to you. IE: getting in to a car with a friend who's been drinking (even tho he/she was supposed to be the designated driver)

The key thing is to be calm and cool when you sit down with them and be ready for any ';curve balls'; they throw your way.

Good luck - you sound like you have a good head on your shoulders.

Does anyone have any advice for a soon-to-be teen parent?

As a teenager, it is hard to accept the fact that I will be a mother in about 6 months. Does anyone have any advice?Does anyone have any advice for a soon-to-be teen parent?
there are more teen mums out there then u think, its going to b a life changing situation for you, its gunna b tuff but with all the support you hopefully have you can do it. as soon as the bub is old enough get urself back into enducation so that you can make life for YOU and ur baby keep following with ur dreams even if u didn't plan on having ababy so early its just an obsticle, life throws alot of lemons at you just throw them all back and keep going, don't listen to what people say about you being a young mum, you made the mistake of getting pregnant and they should be happy that you're mature enough to accept the consiqwences and thats a really good thing that you can take care of ur actions. make sure that you give ur baby love and displine and be the best mother that you can. and as much as its scary to accept the fact that ur going to be a mother in 6 months it is not hard!! the time will go so fast, you will go through alot of emtiontions u'll be happy sad angry excited scared nervous so many things, but try work with the good feelings the postivie. just coz ur young doesn't mean u can get along with ur life, you will be able to have a special bond with ur child the older mothers don't have and that is coz u are young. good luck for ur future and i hope everything goes reallly good for you!!Does anyone have any advice for a soon-to-be teen parent?
is the father with you have your parents help and get the farther to get a jod or have him watch the kid if you wanna keep it if not give it to a friend and some adoptson angeseys have think wher you can see you baby a lot and keep i touch with it
All of the bad things that people say to you, and will say to you. All of the looks and stares you get, and will get. IGNORE THEM. Just pretend those people don't exsist, do your own thing, and it will all work out in the end!
i'm a teen mother i got preg at 15 and had him at 16. i'm not going to make it picture perfect for you because it isn't... i have to leave school and start another for teen moms.. and the pregancy is the easy part.. takeing care of a baby is hard hard hard work.. and my son is 3 yrs old so i have been there done that.. and still doing it.. it isn't going to be easy!!!! well if u want to talk about it email me at bangingringa79@netscape.net
Hopefully you have understanding and supportive parents. If you do great. First admit you made a mistake, second take responsibility for your mistake and number three get an education. By doing this you prove to all those people out there that think ';oh great another on the system'; that not all mistakes are bad mistakes and you are not going to be ';another on the system'; Good luck and I hope you do have understanding and supportive parents :)
no use you already messed up by not using the advice you got before you became pregnant. you wont use these either so why bother
i know ppl who got abortions at the end of the 1st trimester...it'll be better than being talked about in school, and it's a great way to piss off Christians
im 19 and im 25 weeks pregnant! yes yes,it`s really hard! but i don`t think about how hard it is..i think about my baby..the positive things ill get with my baby! i think u know what i mean! having a baby is soo great! it`s a blessing,it`s a gift! not all women can have a baby on their own..so u and i are sOo blessed to have this gift!

i know everything will change when we have a baby..like,no parties,no clubs blah bla..but hey! it`s not bcoz u have already a baby,u cant go and have fun! u can get a way..! and don`t forget that people around u are always there to help u! and once ur cute lil baby angel will be born,u can never say ';hard';..ull just see urself smiling all day long! Congrats and GoodLuck!

    GodBless!
Do your best to stay in school. It might not be easy, but you'll be glad you did. If your parents are supportive, they can help out where needed. And just remember that, teen or adult, all kids need loving and someone to depend on.
After reading the answers already given, you got a lot of good stuff there. However, my advice is - for the life of the child (Yes, I am a Christian Catholic, age 56 who never used birth control) do all you can to protect the life you are entrusted with. And remember that this is not a toy, but a responsibility for the first 18 years of this child's life. If you are not ready to handle the responsibility, by all means explore options such as adoption rather than abortion. Parenting is a 100% commitment. Use all the resources you can (family, friends, professionals). They are out there if you do your research. Solicit the help from/communicate with your parents. Obviously it is not the end of the world that a teen is pregnant. At the same time, allow yourself to still be a teen. That doesn't mean you have to quit everything you do to be a parent. Find someone you trust to watch the child for your good as well as the good of the child.

Please, it isn't the child's fault for being conceived. End of sermon.
Stay in school, (as hard as that may be) don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it because if you really want to be a good parent then YOU CAN . If your b/f is not with you still then make him pay the support don't let him get off easy. I became a parent at 16 and i didnt know a thing about kids, I took advice from my parents and b/f parents and now i think i'm a great mom. I'm 22 and have 2 kids that i am very proud of. Don't let people make you feel like trash just because you are a young parent. YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE. And not the last. Show them how great you can be. Finish school for your kids you will feel so proud that you did. And you wont have to worry about someone having to help you forever. GOOD LUCK!!
I know it is difficult and your life is going to change big time. But you should make your life better for yourself and your child. Stay in school so you can graduate and make something of your self. It is going to be really hard but try to find someone you can talk to like a friend, family member, school counsler so you won't feel so alone. Remember you are goin to be responsible for a child and do everything you can to better both of your lives.
Stay in school and go on to college. There is a ton of aid out there for single parents who are in college. Financial aid pays for your tuition AND for your living expenses. There is also free and low-cost child care for students. This help is out there and it's free for the taking. So take it! Make yourself and your child proud!
jump down the steps numerous times its fun trust me
I had my first child at 17 at first it will be hard because people will tell you don't know what your doing and it can make you mad. Do you have adult that's like a best firend they can be a real big, huge help.
dont do what ANY of these IGNORANT immature ppl are saying on here..i myself is 19 with a 3 month old it was hard at first but not i couldnt be without him.hes the love of my life.i know you might think its going to be hard.it is..but its all worth it
Be honest with yourself, so you feel that you made a mistake, your not ready, or what will other people say? Thats okay though, learn from it and remember that when people point one finger at you there are three pointing back at their own selves. We all will do things that we regret, probably more than once or twice, but if we can learn from these thats the key. Don't get anger, you are worth much and so is the life inside of you, take care and remember God always cares. PSALMS CHAPTER 23- it is great comfort.

Trying to mentor a troubled teen. Got any advice?

I'm helping a teenager grow to be a mature, responsible adult. At least that's what I hope to do. His father abandoned him and his mother when he was little, and his mother asked me to help him learn how to be a man. So I'm sort of like an big brother to him. I'm concerned about some of the people he hangs out with at school, I know they're not good influences and I want him to know the dangers of getting involved with the wrong crowd. Of course he needs friends his age but I want him to avoid the pitfalls of youthful inexperience. Got any suggestions?Trying to mentor a troubled teen. Got any advice?
Your taking on a huge task here and I commend you for it. To get a teens respect you have to have guidelines and rules of what you will and will not allow. Than you have to show hom that you really care but will not tolerate certain behavior. Let him know when your proud of him and let him know when certain behavior is not tolerated. Make the rewards on his level that he will feel like an adult. Everyone needs a person that they can talk to and feel safe that the talk stays there. Instead of preaching to him about the wrong crowd, find someplace that appeals to him and has a healthy crowd. Good luckTrying to mentor a troubled teen. Got any advice?
Be agood influence on him, and maybe he will see that as more important than his friends' influence. Act responsibly around him. Do fun things with him, like going to concerts and movies, but have your limitations. Don't feel pressured to do anything. Let him know that you are there for him and he can call you or email you anytime he wants to talk. Good luck!
Try figuring out what they like and take the child to places like the mall just do stuff with him/her to get to know them that's how to get to know them!
join scouts, he will enjoy it and so will you if you particpate too, cub scouts start at first grade, and can continue up untill he is 18, then he can become and adult leader
explain to him why u think his friends r wrong for him, and what might happen to him if he hangs out with them. and teach him.
The only thing I can think of, is getting him involved in a BETTER crowd. Also, tell him about your experiences and how you were in his shoes when you were younger. When you talk to him, remember what you were like when you were a teenager and how you responded to counseling and advice from someone who was older. What made you think, ';yeah, yeah, they don't know any better...'; and what made you think, ';oh, maybe this guy is right... maybe I should listen to him.'; Keep these things in mind when you talk to this teenager.
Talk to him. And don't talk down to him. Teens need to pull away from their parents as part of the growing up process, but they still need an adult to help them through life. Find out what is going on with him, what is bothering him. This has worked with me and the teens I have mentored. The feelings are the same. And sometimes you have to take a step back and remember that they are still ';kids'; (ok, the ones I work with are 12-14), and just being exposed to things we are used to, and figuring them out.

Encouraging this man when he does good things is key. Find out what he wants to do with his life, and help him get there. Expose him to things that he isn't getting. You will be amazed at how people will start to make better choices when there is someone they cna trust guiding them along the way.
Become his friend! In soon time he will learn to trust you and when that happens everything will fall into place.

  • Teen responsibility advice?

How can I get my 15 yr old son to be more responsible? I have to remind him to do just about everything or else he won't do it. From studying, to cleaning, to doing projects for school, etc. It seems as if he cant do anything without me reminding him. I stopped reminding him for awhile, and all his grades started to go down cause he stopped studying cause I wasn't reminding him. He seriously does NOTHING without me reminding him. I've threatened him and said if he doesn't become more responsible he won't be driving, still NO change! Please help??Teen responsibility advice?
start grounding him.. if he doesnt keep the grades.. all his privelages are gone.Teen responsibility advice?
What is he doing in place of doing homework and cleaning? Try taking that stuff away from him if he doesn't start taking his own responsibilities. But you also have to remember that he is 15, this is still young and expected to be reminded of things and asked to do stuff. I guess what I am trying to say is don't try to push him into doing this stuff all at once, let him go into it slowly.
i was the same way for awhile, until my mom started taking everything away from me, she also made me pack all my stuff up to where i only had my clothes, and bed (blanket and pillows of course) nothing else no alarm clock so i couldn't listen to music no phone, nothing. i also couldn't go any where no friends over either. that really sucked, but if that doesn't work he may have a learning problem or something else, we found out i had ADD and ADHD and that ended up solving a lot of problems. good luck
    Sounds like me.... if you said 18 instead of 15 i'd be saying ';dad....?';

Make him do everything himself, don't wash or iron his clothes, don't tidy his room, don't pack his school lunch or something. give him warning that you're doing this though, and ignore the strops.

I reckon that'd work with me. though if he was me, i'd wear mucky clothes 'till he went out somewhere.

P.S Don't CONSTANTLY nag him, that makes me worse and usually puts me in a crappy mood for the rest of the day. And putting it all on his hrades is a bad idea, sometimes kids struggle with the preassure of high expectations, just as long as he passes though.

Could use incentives? i.e ';wash the pots and you can stay out an extra half an hour'; or something.
Sounds like a 15 yr old boy to me. I think the problem isn't that he needs to be reminded, I think the problem may be that you don't feel like you should have to remind him. Eventually you won't have to remind him any more so for now just enjoy the fact that when you do remind him to do something he will do it.
Let him see the real world. You and him can switch lives. Make him do everything in the house and pretend he has a job. Or he can get a job and balance school, home and a job. Give him a taste of life a bit, that will let him learn. What my mom did with me was call the boot camp place and my name is still on the list for a year. You can do that. It sure scared me, so it could work for your son.
for me, being a 15 yr old. it helps so much to have a list of things my mom wants me to do. personally i have the worst memory EVEr. i feel bad because my mom thinks i just dont want to do it...i just forget. give him little tests see if he can make it on his own. my mom sometimes would let me down to show me how it affects her. My parents never let me down for picking me up from practice or making my lunch in the morning. its kind of like a reality check. it helped me become more responsible. or a weekly job around the house, something every week like clean the windows or just taking the trash out. good luck!
I was like that when I was a teen...It wasn't that I didn't want to do the things I was suppose to do. I just had so much going through my mind all the time...It was weird...But kids hormones at that age are all crazy...Well what I do with my kid is...Make her accountable for the things she is suppose to do...such as no allowance if her room and chores aren't done. Just like if you do a crappy job at work you get fired...Plus If I have to ground her she does Math problems and sit ups %26amp; push ups...I was in the army for a while...That is what straightened me up.
well. these things arent the first things that comes to his mind when he gets home from school. same way i used to be. i used to have chores like taking out the litter box, and garbage, etc. but i would always forget because they werent that important to me. but when i started getting paid. i started thinking, in order to get that money friday, i need to do so and so. and thats when i started to actually do my chores. relate something that isnt important to him to something that is.
My Son is a visual learner so any amount of me 'telling him' fell on deaf ears.

So, I put a picture on the fridge of things for him to do each day and the reward at the end of the week. I didn't say anything but he GOT it right away.

Maybe this could work for you? Best wishes
Cut off his allowance if he's getting any, and make him work. If his school grades drop, he should be grounded and not allowed out with friends. If he doesn't clean his room, lol just pick a punishment. Tough love is the only way to learn.
well, i am 14 and i guess that i am the same way.

my dad is ALWAYS getting angry at me for not doing things..

i usually put those things on my 'to do' list, but no matter how much i intend to do them, they barely ever get done!

im thinking its just a phase?

My brother has ADHD/ADD. He NEVER studies, has failing grades, never does anything around the house unless reminded, and he dropped out because he could not handle school. I would get him checked for ADHD/ADD.

    Hope this helped.(:
Turn the TV off, cancel the satellite or cable, take away the video games - that should do the trick!
There's a chance he has ADD. But if not, have a stern talk. Or, slowly stop reminding him. Make him right down his assignments in a book if he doesn't already.
Take away something he cant live without, he will shape up really quickly.
it's all jsut part of being a young teen. Let him deal with the consequences himself rather than keeping on him too much.
sounds like ..ADD.... attention deficit disorder
    make him get a job

also you need to remember he is 15 they grow out of this so just hold on
stop eminding him stop doing anything to him then you'll see that he really needs you
    Part time job.
hahaha im the exact same way....

theres probably not much u can do though
Sooner or later he will have a reality check and shapen up. I'm 15 and I'm a junior in high school and my freshmen and junior year weren't the best and I got a complete realty check from like teachers and my grandma on how if I don't study or do homework I'll turn into a bum and have no money to buy a car and end up flipping burgers and wont be able to play video games or buy a house and all that stuff. I only clean my room when I feel like organizing that but I understand the messy room thing. I don't think it's that big of a deal.Once it gets dirty enough he's bound to clean it sooner or later. Just don't ground him.Grounding made me worse and more rebellious so just sit him down, make him feel a little bad (as in like a guilt trip) and then give him a reality check. He'll shape up soon. Also if he plays video games a lot, take that away. It's extremely distracting. Put it in a high closet. He'll be so bored he'll have nothing to do besides watch TV and study. Or you can find a way for studying to be fun by his interests.

    Advice. Teen Pregnancy. Help?

1.Ok im 16 and prego and i am having a girl. Me and my boyfriend came up with the name ';Mya Elizabeth Young'; what do you think?

    2. He bought a apartment and wants us to live with him, but i say wait until we can hadle the baby ourself. Am i right?

    3. Whats the best thing to do right now concerning about what do i get first toys?clothes?etc?

    Thanks!Advice. Teen Pregnancy. Help?
I am very impressed with your questions and I hope not too many people give you a hard time about your age because well you have made your decision and you seem to be mature about it.

    1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name very sweet and it runs well together when you say it.

    2. The first 6 months with a baby is very hard you don't want to make a big move by moving in with eachother and then possibly break up and have to move out, waiting a little bit is a very good idea

    3. First toys is easy, soft toys she can put in her mouth, vibrant colours, rattles. Clothes, sleepers with booties, diaper shirts, caps, its getting colder so make sure you are ready. I had 10 newborn outfits because you need to change them often then about three 3-6 month outfits because they grow FAST and one 6-9 month outfits just to make sure I was prepared.

I bought most of my sons clothes second hand from thrift stores or other mom's it was ver inexpensive and when he grew out of them I donated them to churches and low income orgnaizations which made me feel goodAdvice. Teen Pregnancy. Help?
    1. I think that is a beautiful name! Congrats on being a new mommy! = )

    2. I would say you are right. If you have to just stay with family until you are ready to handle it on your own. Trust me, I had my first at 19 and had years of baby experience and still had many things I needed help with and didn't know about.

    3. As far as clothes go, don't go overboard. I did with my first and she never even wore many of them. I gave away tons of clothes with tags on because she never got to them. I bought a bunch of onesies and they worked great because they spit up a lot and such and you dont want them to ruin good clothes. Toys - They really dont play with toys until they hit around 6 or more months. By then you can play it by ear t determine which ones interest the baby. A good mobile is best for a newborn and that's about it. They are really more interested in sleeping and mommy and other family at first. And many of the items you may think you need (changing table, diaper genie, wipes warmer, etc) you really might not even use. Ask other moms and they'll tell you if they used it or not. Or have family go with you and tell you their experiences with what items you may be interested in buying. Other moms are the best to question. = )

Once again, good luck and congrats! And I commend you on thinking this through! = )
I'm really proud of you =)

If your parents don't mind you living with them.. it's spacious enough.. and they will help you until you get the hang of it.. take advantage of that!! Then after a couple months, move in with your boyfriend and have him visit in the meantime. I think you two will be overwhelmed in the beginning but if you have been together for a while and you have no support then ya, do it! When you are 7 months, have a babyshower and invite anyone you have ever met. First, get a bassinet/crib/changing table (search craigslist but YOU DON'T GO WITH HIM TO PICK IT UP!! There are too many weirdos that will literally try getting that baby any way they can..while your pregnant! Also go to tons of yardsales) Then get burping clothes, bottles that are BPA free Avent ones are the best in my opinion, bottle warmer, onesies, socks, cute dresses of course and bows!, powder formula! then when you go somewhere just put water in the bottles and put the formula in them so you don't have to worry about warming it up!

    Hope I helped!
    1. i like that name.

    2. I would move in , he is stepping up as the dad, and taking responsiblility you can still have the baby and everything there. privacy too which is great more space for the 3 of you.

    3. well i am 6 month and i have the crib , clothes lots of clothes, and blankets thats it for right now but when i go out sometimes i do go shopping for more lol.

if you want you can IM me at greenstar_47@yahoo.com and i can help further
    1. That's a cute name :)

    2. Yeah you could move in, but ask your mom or someone to stay with you guys until you can handle the baby alone.

    3. The best thing concerning what you should buy first are the basics. A crib - Mattress %26amp; Bedding, Bottles or if you're beast feeding some breast pumps, Stroller %26amp; Carseat combo, Swaddle blankets, Pacifires, Clothes, Baby monitor, Baby gate, Baby swing, Highchair, Bottle cleaner, you could buy some toys but the baby wont really play with them.. Hmm I'm not sure what else :)
The names cute! Not too bad its common but very pretty. I like it!

I can understand why you would want to wait a few months til you've got a handle on the whole parenting thing and its not a matter of right or wrong its what you feel comfortable doing.

Girl get everything! lol Toys,Clothes,Bottles(if your not going to breastfeed) Crib, Diapers. I always think you can NEVER get too much for your baby.

Hope this helped and best of luck hun! :D
I had a baby at 21 and I am soooooo happy that I lived with my mom for the first year. Even though I knew a lot about baby care (My mom had a baby when I was 17.) It was nice to know that I was never alone.

The name is great. As far as what to buy now, skip the toys until the baby is 3-4 months old. Buy bottles diapers and clothes now.
    congrats first of all

    1) love the name my little girls middle name will be the same

2)Yes it is a good idea to wait and see if you can handle being teenage parents, also its gotta get approved buy your prarents sinc eyou are 16

3)newborns-3 months don't really need toys so focus on cloths diapers and formula. Don't go nuts buying newborn items. they grow out of them fast
    1. love the name

    2. you're completely right...i still live with my parents.

    3. onesies, diapers, wipes, weather appropriate clothes(for when then baby is born), i say get all the necessities first. i'm 17 and im about to pop any day..and i have everything she needs. she has some extra stuff some people have given me. and my parents are helping me out ALOT!

but considering age and the fact that you might have a job...get only what she needs first..
    Cute name.

Teething rings. rattles. pacifiers. Lots of onsies and footies. Swaddle. carseat crib or bassonette. bottles. Night light. Pack n play. Jumper. bouncer. front carrier or potatoe sack carrier. stroller. diapers. SOCKS. changing table. a stuffed animal stuffed with cotten and NO hard eyes. A boppy pillow if breastfeeding. Infant bathtub and washing supplies. monitors. diaper bag.

    Goodluck%26lt;3
Well, it's very smart to wait until you know for sure that you can fully handle it being just the three of you.

I'd start shopping around for some supplies. Crib, car seat, etc.

Clothes are a good idea, just not too many of one size.
    1. very nice :) i like it :) congrats btw

    2. yeh i agree plus it will mean that if u both feel that you need an hour or so to have some chill out time. im sure ur parents or whoever you are staying with could child mind for a few hours or whatever. but then again its your life. but i would stay where there are people that are going to support and look after you whne your feeling low or worried or whatever.

    3.get the necessitiys first :)

good luck i hope you have a happy and healthy child

    xxxx
clothing, formula and diapers/ wipes should be number 1. The baby will not need any toys for a while unless you count a swing and bouncy seat as a toy. (which can be life savers if you are cleaning)
    1. Maya is a pretty name but not when spelled 'Mya'

    2. Yes, wait until the baby is a little older and you don't need your parent's help anymore.

    3. Food, diapers, clothing, and baby furnature.
    Cute name and good idea.

Buy crib diapers bottles formula or maby a pump if you're breastfeeding. Lots of onsies maby a swing and bouncer and jumper and stuff those are LIFE SAVERS. Lol..

    Good luck and congrats!
    1. I love the name

    2. yeah ur write

    3. buy alot of onezies and jackets and pants, buy rattle and stuff that lights up and makes noise, bottles and lots of binkies they are open and after you open them it looks like its gone then

    good luck

Style and hair advice for a teen with a big forehead !?

    My forehead is huge!

I look best hair-wise with a centre part yet a full fringe looks a bit too blunt and side fringes make my big forehead look really really wide and huge.

I'm sorry to post such a stupid question but I just can't sort it out, my forehead looks terrible and big. I'm coming up for sixteen and I find myself a bit concious of it. I do have big eyes though so maybe that balances it ?

Which hairstyles/cuts would help me with this ?

Thankyou to anyone who has any makeup or hair advice for me !!Style and hair advice for a teen with a big forehead !?
try bangsStyle and hair advice for a teen with a big forehead !?
for your hair, I would stick with bangs. They are great for hiding a large forehead I should know. You could go with different lengths or perhaps a side part with bangs.

For your eyes when applying makeup if you use eye liner just line the top, that will help them look smaller and use a dark color. But the absolute best advice you can get is to experiment with your make up. Try lining the tops only, the botoms only, or both. Try using different shades of eyeshadows. Have fun with it. This will help you get better at applying it and you can see for yourself which you like better.

    Good Luck!
Hard to give advice without a photograph. Ask your hairdresser
big foreheads are in ask rihanna and trya banks. i would probably go with bangs, but definitely ask your beautician for advice.
I don't have picture of you but my advise would be to get some bangs put just a little nothing to heavy maybe just section off about a 1/4 -1/2 inch and use that for your bangs. Don't have them cut straight across but have then point cut. That means that they cut the hair using just the tips of the scissors at almost the same direction the hair is going. this gives a much softer look to the bangs. Also you could have a little side fringe if you have some bangs but as you stated above this can make your face look skinny and long. The ideal shape that you are trying to make your face is an oval. So if you have a round face you should try to cover up the cheeks, square cover the corners, long cover the bangs. Hope this helps.

    Teen Relationship advice please?

I like this girl, but she is year younger than me (im a sophomore, shes a freshmen, we are both in high school). We txt each other and say hi in hallway but thats it. I need some ideas on how to ask her out and get closer to herTeen Relationship advice please?
Strike up a conversation with her at lunch...start hanging out with her in the mornings, at lunch, afterschool. Introduce yourself to her friends. Talk online, or call each other. When you guys are closer friends, start asking her questions like: Is it possible that you would ever like me more than a friend?

If so, ask her out. If not, move on. (:Teen Relationship advice please?
Well, you need to get to know her before you consider dating. Ask her some questions on her favorite things to do. Maybe you should walk her to one of her classes, or to her locker. Say more than hi in person, if you only talk over text, it'll make you seem fake. Age is only a number, it doesn't matter about that,
Flirt with her and say cute things. It will steal her heart. Also ask her to hangout once you get to know each other better, like a movie date. Once you guys get closer and more comfortable ask her out. Do it in person, not over text message or online.
Just talk to her, simple as that. I think its best that you try chatting her up, before you ask her out. Just try talking to her at school whenever you get the chance, or texting her casually. Or online chatting is always good.

    Good luck!
When you're texting her, ask her if she wants to chill and go to the movies. Try giving her a friendly hug in the hallway, maybe that will work!
Just text her and ask if she has a boyfriend. That should break the ice. Don't talk about previous relationships, and just generally have fun :)
Send her a text telling her that you want to hang out for real and choose a place and time...and there you go! =D

I'm 16 and need serious help with teen dating advice?

Ok, so on saturday im taking this girl from my sat class out on a date... i m not very good at this but anyway

1)Shes coming to my neighborhood should I

a)take the train back with her

b)take a cab back with her

    c)send her in a cab

    d)send her on the train...

also, i was thinking about sushi or some type of dinner any suggestions, clothes, flowers? ect...I'm 16 and need serious help with teen dating advice?
hehe thats so cute, um, send her in a cab unless she wants you to come, next ask her where she wants to go for food. You don't want to take her to a place that she found out that she wouldn't like. That would make the date uncomfortable. And for entertainment.....outdoor movie place, the park, your favorite place on earth, a cool music place, build a bear (you can have a lot of fun with that! It would be funny too!) a carnival, a racecar track

You know what go with the flow! It would be wierd to go out with a guy that has the whole night planned out. Be spontanious! Its always cool to have a guy like that! Just keep in mind that you want to have fun, go to places both of you like, and surprise her! Dont bring flowers, they die anyway. Go to a random place in the city and have fun!I'm 16 and need serious help with teen dating advice?
ok ur 16 does she drive? do you?? dinner and a movie..thats a teen thing sushi??? how old are you
Stay with her the entire way.
yes i would say take the train with her and find out what she likes and take her on her idea of a perfect date.
well you should take a cab back with her for it is more private and she will feel protected by you :D

you should take her out to eat somehwere calm where you guys can talk and get to know eachother.

as for clothes, it really depents where youre going. you don't want to look too dressed up for the place youre gonna go to. As for the flowers, think of her personality. Do you think she would like those? or do you think she would feel weird about it. Girls like flowers for the most part. But you never know.
I think a train would be more romantic and i would make sure she likes sushi before you take her to a place that serves it, if it is a first date go out for something simple like pizza or pasta its fun and its a great place to get to know one another. If you really like this girl then I would bring her 1 rose because its sweet and something she will always remember
you 16 dont over do it, take the train with her maby bring her 1 flower, dinners lame if you do it have somthing planed for after, like a chill spot like park or some where secluded out side so you can talk and kiss if your luckeyhight places with good views are good.
    DO ANYTHING SHE WANTS!
no you just hold her hands and then give her a kiss back home on bus or whatever she takes. If it is night time you could send a cab but if not then no. Take her out don't stay at home.
aite my nig, let me help you out.

first off take either train/cab back with her( which ever is cheapest on your wallet), sushi would be a kool date actually, no flowers, or candy thats little too much for first date, save that for 2nd or 3rd. clothing hmm wear your best shirt, but comfortable pants, your going be eating and whatever else you at else want to have your elgs and pelvis area comfortable, also bring a sweater so she can use it later on in the date or ride home :). when your in cab/train with her, wrap your arms around her, talk about whatever ya'll be talking about. go for the hug when its her stop, if she wants a kiss, she'll give it too you, if not wait for 2nd and 3rd date
well no matter what u do go with her ok they dont wanna b alone in a cab or a train ok go with her. She wants to be with u and dont be afraid to show her some affection. well flowers maybe a rose to show her beauty. Clothes make it nice some khacki shorts and a polo dude.

    Dinner whatever she likes dude.
i agree with staying with her jeez you cant just leave the girl and oh boy your 16 why can't you drive?

Well anyways doing what she wants is great but you should have a plan just in case she cant decide what to do on a moments notice ( which happens a lot) SOOO

plan it out like flowers are too much for a first date maybe the second.

i think you should wear jeans and a nice t-shirt collared but dont look gay. AND sushi or pizaa is a GREAT idea =)
